We are proud to share a rare original copy of Nader's 1967-1968 Art Catalogue, published by Nader's Art Gallery, Rue Bonne Foi, Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and founded and directed by my father, Georges S. Nader. Issued as a mail-order reference for collectors abroad, the catalogue allowed customers to order directly by serial number and page, with the gallery shipping worldwide by parcel post or air cargo. Across its pages, the catalogue documents dozens of original oil paintings on masonite and canvas, watercolors, copper bas reliefs, and carved wood sculpture in oak and mahogany, most identified only by artist initials and inventory number in the practice of the period. The works span the full range of subjects that defined Haitian art at the time: market and village scenes, religious and Vodou imagery, marine and landscape views, portraiture, and still life. For our family, this catalogue is more than a price list. It is a primary-source record of how Haitian art was introduced to international collectors in the late 1960s, and of the artists, known and unnamed, whose work passed through my father's gallery. That same commitment to documenting and preserving Haitian art history continues today through Myriam Nader Art Gallery.
