Collection: Fritz Rock (Haitian, b.1944)
Fritz Rock is a distinguished Haitian painter and a student of Casimir Laurent, renowned for his vibrant geometric compositions that capture the rhythm and harmony of daily life. Drawing inspiration from the Centre d’Art movement, Rock’s cubist-inspired style blends bold color with fluid forms, portraying market scenes filled with warmth, community, and motion. His luminous palette—rich in yellows, oranges, and purples—reflects both spiritual energy and the essence of Haitian modernism. In 1986, Fritz Rock relocated to Florida, where he continued to paint and share Haitian culture with new audiences across the Caribbean diaspora. His time in Florida deepened his connection to Haitian heritage and expanded his reach among international collectors. Represented by Myriam Nader Haitian Art Gallery, Rock’s original paintings remain highly sought after for their harmonious balance of abstraction, culture, and human spirit.
