Description
The Green Silence (2025) by Albott Bonhomme presents an immersive tropical landscape defined by stillness, depth, and quiet vitality. Dense layers of foliage—broad banana leaves, bamboo forms, and lush undergrowth—frame a narrow waterway that flows inward toward a small cascading waterfall at the heart of the composition. The scene draws the viewer into a secluded natural sanctuary, where sound and motion feel softened by the surrounding greenery. Two birds perch together along a branch in the upper register of the painting, while another appears in gentle flight nearby, creating a subtle dialogue between rest and movement. Their presence suggests guardianship, balance, and attentiveness within the landscape. Bonhomme’s palette is dominated by nuanced greens, enriched with touches of red, yellow, and muted earth tones, producing a harmonious interplay between vegetation, water, and atmosphere.
Executed in acrylic on canvas, the painting reflects Bonhomme’s distinctive nature-inspired approach, blending careful observation with a poetic, dreamlike sensibility. The work evokes themes of sanctuary, ecological harmony, and quiet contemplation, making it a compelling acquisition for collectors of Haitian art, Caribbean landscape painting, and works centered on the natural world.
The painting is in good condition. It is signed by the artist in the lower right corner and bears the inscription “X-013077A.” Upon purchase, Myriam Nader Art Gallery will proudly issue a Certificate of Authenticity.
